What you can see here

Here you can leaf through the famous newspaper “Vlasina”, going back to 1926. The library also keeps the bequest of Miodrag Nagorni, in which the portrait series “Moji Vlasotinčani” (My People of Vlasotince) stands out.

For June 2026, screenings of five European films were announced in the library gallery, with free entry, and the 2025 Wine Ball programme announced the presentation of the monograph “The First 65 Years of the Wine Ball” here.

The library through time

The Vlasotince library and reading room was licensed by the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Serbia in 1912. When the Bulgarians occupied Vlasotince in 1915, the library was thoroughly looted.

After the First World War the private premises of Milan Valčić were rented, and members brought chairs from their own homes.

On the first of April 2008 a rich collection of books, officially 14,658 volumes, was lost for good in a fire.

Today a branch of the town library is also in the Milan Valčić Palace, on Trg 8. oktobar. Valčić Palace
