River, mill and town
The mill was not the only thing at work on the Vlasina. The textile industry began to grow after 1890, when the strong demand for braid (gajtan) led merchants to build braid works on the river.
By the old mill, in the south-east of the town, a small reservoir with a dam was built in the early eighties. In summer the town lake has a bathing area, and at Epiphany (Theophany) people swim in it for the Holy Cross.
Close to the lake is Čarobna dolina (Magic Valley): the Stanci stream has cut a bed with several giant potholes and a few waterfalls up to 10 metres high.
