Wine Ball
A celebration in honour of wine. The first ball was held on 13 July 1960, and the fortieth on 21 and 22 August 2026.

Where it falls in the year: 2026: 21-22 August.
At the Wine Ball the best winemaker and the best wine of the year are chosen, along with the best cartoon and poem on the theme of wine and grapes, and the Goddess of Wine. The swim for a little wine barrel is a special attraction, followed by time together on the riverbank over the Vlasinski kotlić.
The first Wine Ball was held on Wednesday, 13 July 1960, in the week of the International Textile Fair in Leskovac.
With a torch procession and the song “A, sad, adio” at the end of the concert, the people of Vlasotince now traditionally pay tribute to the screenwriter Siniša Pavić.
Since 2016 the International Wine Salon “Vina juga” has also been held, hosted by the Wine Knights’ Order “Sveti Simeon” from Vlasotince.

The thirty-eighth Wine Ball, from 23 to 25 August.
- 2025
The thirty-ninth Wine Ball, 22 and 23 August. The programme included the launch of the monograph “The First 65 Years of the Wine Ball”, in Gigina kuća.
- 2026
The fortieth Wine Ball, 21 and 22 August, began with the Vlasinski kotlić, in which vineyard janija simmered. The best premium white was the Sauvignon Blanc of Časlav Stojiljković, with 95 points, and the best traditional red, from Vranac, Prokupac and Burgundac, was the wine of Gordana Pešić, with 92.
